Why Anthony Zacharyasz, Jr.?

He will serve our city A-Z.

  • Ensuring a hometown feel:

Anthony is committed toward the betterment of the Strongsville community, especially since growing up and sharing similar experiences with other residents over the years.

The numerous civic organizations that host community events throughout the year allow our residents and surrounding cities the opportunity to be involved and enjoy what Strongsville offers. Volunteering and being involved within many of the civic organizations near and dear to Strongsville is a common theme for Anthony and his family.

Over the years, Anthony and with the help of his family, volunteered in the ring toss tent at the Strongsville Chamber of Commerce’s Homecoming and the lemonade stand at the Strongsville City Club’s Rib Burn Off.

Today, Anthony is now a Chamber of Commerce trustee and serves as a co-manager for the lemonade stand. The events offered throughout the city allow for families, friends and groups to have fun, make memories and create more shared experiences for all. It’s important to keep those events going and ensure city cooperation is given.

  • Standing up for our safety services:

Strongsville serves a catalyst for opportunity for all types of activities and commerce. This is largely in part to the strong and responsive safety services the city has on call who are ready for any given situation at any time.

With approximately 46, 491 residents, according to the 2020 United States Census, and over 75,000 people commuting, working and exploring Strongsville during busy work day hours, equipping safety services with adequate resources is critical to keeping everyone within the city’s borders safe.

With keeping others safe, it’s important our first responders have resources to relieve the stressors posed by the calls and situations they endure.

As the son of a first responder, Anthony understands the baggage that comes with the job and how at times it can be difficult to leave work-related issues at work.

Having mental health resources for first responders, along with advocating for seminars and training to inform and educate our first responders are ways all residents will continue to stay safe and be taken care of when the moment rises.

  • Strong economic development and small business community:

Strongsville is home to four thriving business & technology parks, and Anthony wants to keep our businesses in town and seek new ones as industries evolve.

As the director of operations at his family’s Strongsville business, Kalinich Fence Company, and minority owner at Westwood Mini Storage, Anthony grasps the idea of what it takes to run a business and lead an organization with innovative concepts and strong work ethic.

A business takes capital, assets and people, among many more factors. By having complimentary businesses within the same city with a trustworthy, educated and willing work force who can call Strongsville both the place they work and live, only makes our city stronger, providing ample opportunity.

One source of opportunity is present with Strongsville’s Aaa Bond Rating through Moody’s which Anthony is committed to keep. This rating is the highest accolade a city can receive highlighting the strong financial stability a city displays and indicates minimal risk when the city applies for a bond meant for various city projects, including infrastructure.

  • Instilling truth and transparency:

Anthony’s education and background within the journalism industry paves the way toward residents having an objective voice.

He looks to help educate residents on issues impacting them and being an advocate by listening to concerns raised.

Strongsville has an opportunity for healthy growth but this comes with questions and conversation.

Anthony looks forward to using methods and strategies gained within his degree and experiences to bring when discussing issues and city matters.
